I have a had a good day running in my new X-Light, I have managed to do
3.5 hours of riding and I enjoyed every bit of it. I noticed the bike
start to loosen up as the day went on, but it is still really tight
and therefore I haven't had the chance to unleash the bikes full
potential.

Towards the end of the day I was comfortable with the bike and began
to get more and more confident when riding it, it seemed to go round
the rutted corners as if it were on rails, it was very stable in the
corners and I could get it to go where ever I wanted it to. I havnt
had the suspension set up for me yet but I feel that it is good as
standard.
In conclusion, I thought the bike was very good and I can't wait to be
able to race it and ride it to it's full potential.

This weekend I did my first race on my new Husqvarna x-light. The track conditions were good although it was a bit slippery due to ice earlier on in the day. I got three good starts and feel that the TC250s excellent power delivery & traction is getting me out of the gate at the head of the pack. In the first two races I made mistakes loosing ground early in the races but charged back through the pack & reach 3rd in both my 1st and 2nd race. In my last race I almost got the hole shot taking the turn in 3rd but pushed into 2nd by the next turn & charged away from the pack challenging for the lead in the early stages. I rode well and made no mistakes but had to settle for 2nd place. Towards the end of the day as the track became rougher, the x-lights handling was a real advantage, however I am still exploring the bikes limits & I feel that I could still get a lot more speed out of the bike. Overall I was joint 2nd but was given third overall because the rider I tied with beat me in the 1st and 2nd race. It was a good day of racing and I really enjoyed it. To be so competitive early in the season on a bike fresh out of the crate & the excellent dealer support from the team at SS racing, means I am really looking forward to the 2010 season. Dad said if I keep riding well Melvin has promised to buy him a new RS !
Next race is the first BSMA national event at Mepal in 2 weeks time. Mepal is a deep sand track & I am going there this weekend to get myself dialed in & get a good bike set up for sand tracks
